Walking & Biking Trails

Stroll the neighborhood sidewalks within the community or opt to venture off in one of many abutting nature trails with easy access from the community sidewalk system. Walk for miles...enjoying nature...birdwatch, find that favorite picnic spot, fish, admire the rugged beauty and the value of the historical quarries, walk the old rail line paths, and enjoy the peacefulness of a secluded pine knoll to collect ones thoughts.

Take your bike out of the garage and enjoy easy access to the Upper Charles Trail, which is approximately 27 miles long and runs from the Downtown Framingham Commuter Rail Station, through Sherborn, Holliston, Milford, Hopkinton and Ashland and back to Framingham. It is primarily an off-road path separated from traffic. It is designed and built to accommodate a variety of non-motorized uses such as bicycling, walking, skating, cross-country skiing.

The Milford segment (" Milford Upper Charles Trail") is approximately 6.4 miles long and runs through Milford from the Holliston town line to the Hopkinton town line. It will allow people to conveniently access recreation and conservation areas, schools, local businesses, town offices, and provide a non-motorized transportation corridor to other towns in the region. In addition to providing safe and convenient transportation, the project will offer families, seniors, walkers, bicyclists, joggers and others a range of recreational and educational opportunities, while protecting and preserving the town's available open space, scenic vistas and wildlife.

For the mountain biker enthusiasts who enjoy a challenge, within a few minute bike ride, hit the 50+ acres of the New England Mountain Bikers mountain bike trail site, one of the most popular mountain biking hot spots in the state.
